Happy Birthday

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, today is Richard Simmons 60th birthday.

And I am presenting Simmonspalooza.

All Richard, only Richard.

Grab a piece of sweat resistant birthday cake, and watch a few minutes of some of the funniest video around.

On Ellen

A great visit to Letterman (my personal favorite)

And, of course, the classic,

Whose Line Is It Anyway Appearance

And finally, never forget

Thanks for stopping by for Richard’s birthday, and please take a party favor on the way out.

  4. @ Dani, Sandy, and Claire: I was cruel to Richard just because he sweated on me, and is a tool. It's only proper to wish him well on his birthday.

  8. OMFG! Once my eyes are finally getting better you bring these on. Now I can see but I'm in horrible pain from laughing more than I have in ages. Expect a call from my attorney.

  9. @ Play free: on behalf of Richard, thanks

@ Rubba: Debbie Webbie, I'm sure we both know her. :)

@ Richard Simmons: just please don't hug me. Thanks for stopping by and happy birthday. Did you know Monkey Butt Powder is also great for sweaty loins?

  10. @ Bradley: Yeah, I know I promised to be RS free, but it's the little sweaty guy's big 6-0.

  11. Crotchety, you do realize that you've conditioned us to laugh every time we see an image of Richard on your blog...as opposed to just sneering when we see him anywhere else.

  12. @ JD: But we are laughing with him. No, just kidding, we are laughing at him.

  15. What great clips!!!

I have to admit I just never know what to expect from Richard...he makes me laugh and, sometimes, take a step back.
I can't decide if he's a genius at what he does or, simply, a nut.

    A huge HAPPY B'DAY, Richard!!!!

Oh, my goodness! Being a Brit, I don't know Richard Simmons, so thank you for that!

I realise I've seen the WLIIA game show clip before, but even so, I have tears from laughing so much! 'This one's wet!' HAHAHAHAHA!! And the raft!

Bless the man, he's very sweet. And crude and funny at the same time. Quite a gift!

He reminds me a little bit of our home-grown Frankie Howerd who had the same mix.

  18. @ Shyne: Thanks. Youtube is great. Tons more, it's tough to pick out the best.

@ Jay: Richard is --unusual to say the least.

@ Jenn: I'm sorry for posting these, but it's my duty to let everyone know about Richard. :)
Our British friends had no idea what a national treasure he is. Even so, I'd be willing to trade him even up for some day old fish and chips.

I somehow stumbled upon your blog today and I was LMAO during the Who's Line is it Anyway video. Holy Moly! That is the funniest thing EVAH!

I actually auditioned for one of his video's about 10 years ago and he was there. He really IS THAT GUY. He actually was nice and eccentric.

Oh and no I didn't make the video. Got cut after the second round. Thank goodness. LOL.

  20. @ Kitty: I met him a few years ago. It was not a good thing. I laugh about it now, but at the time I wanted to whack him.
