Current Events Thursday

Lots of big things happening in the news. I've read a lot about Tea PartiesPhotobucket apparently, they are subversive. Go figure.

Other Famous Subversives

Next, pirates Photobucket are back. Holy crap. What's up with that? Is it 1750 again?

"It's always something"

  3. Yes.. we do need Chuck Norris. After all, under his beard he has another fist!

I'm surprised the term "pirates" hasn't been changed to "morally challenged persons" because God forbid we should offend anyone with a term that has derogatory meanings.

  4. Wait. I'm offended by "tea parties". I like tea. Haven't we learned to not assign blame to inanimate objects?

    Just kidding of course.

  5. obama will probably try and have a sit down and talk it over with the pirates. haha
There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live.

  6. Next thing you know the Whigs will be in power and the Tories will be crying for a king.

  7. Well the current enemy according to homeland security is us. Rightwing extremists. How do you like that one?

    Have a terrific day. :)

  8. Damn, I feel like going to a Toby Keith concert. And, if I may add, it's a curious collection of portraits when Benjamin Franklin has the best hair.

  9. I'm probably committing blasphemy, but I never cared for Mr. Norris. Something about his voice. He always sounded too girly and high-pitched for as macho as he's supposed to be.

I know, I know-- I've lost a lot of friends for saying this just now, haven't I? :)

  10. You do know Chuck Norris has just expressed an interest in being the president of the nation of Texas, don't you.

    I'm not kidding. Honestly.

When the ninjas come back, then we have to worry. Pirates and tea parties. No worries. Chuck Norris? Please. Ninjas, though: look out.

  14. Dear ol' Chuck. How old is he anyways? 329 years old?

  15. @ Vince: Thanks

    @ Dizz: I like it.

@ Reforming: Tea sounds like pee, and that offends me, now.

    LOL

@ I Hate: Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise

@ Don: Nothing surprises me any more

@ Sandee: Yeah, scary, isn't it?

@ Douglas: That look is coming back, too

@ Jenn: But, but, but, did you know Chuck Norris doesn't read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

@ The Hawg: I heard, and I'm packing and mapquesting right now.

@ Unfinished: Ninjas want to grow up to be just like Chuck Norris. But usually they grow up just to be killed by Chuck Norris.

@ Kirsten: I've noticed. Richard sweated on me, has Abe ever done anything to you?

  16. @ Me Me: Perfect

    @ Carl: Ageless. Timeless.
Chuck Norris doesn’t wear a watch, HE decides what time it is.

  17. Who wudda thought Americans elected Obama to kill pirates? Probably not him! Where's his buccaneers? Under his buccan hat!!!

  18. It is all very confusing isn't it? I wonder when President Obama will start wearing a big white wig.

  19. The news about pirates does seem like it's from out of long ago, doesn't it?

  20. @ Nonamed: It was a surprise to everyone.

@ Etta: Soon enough, I'm sure.

@ Mom: Great post, BTW. Thanks for letting me know about it.

    @ Sherry: Almost unbelievable.

  21. CNN's or is it CNNs (help me, please, I have retyped four letters for the last five minutes) anyway...their coverage of the tea parties was nothing more to them than an opportunity to use the word "teabagging" over and over again in a news cast. Kinda made me want to kick in my tv. I understand why Anderson Cooper would use the word so easily but the rest of them just looked unprofessional.

  23. @ Jen: You are correct about CNN's coverage. It was an opportunity for a puerile joke. But, CNN has been a joke for a while.

@ Hillybilly Willy: You and me, both.

  25. I drank so much tea today that my bladder is the size of a basketball.

On a completely unrelated note, I'm a distant relative of Benjamin Franklin... AND I have an ancestor that was a pirate.

This explains my love for Johnny Depp AND my strange desire to fly kites in thunderstorms.
