It was explained to me that the fan actually does something up there, like remove triple digit heat from the house. My response? It's too loudy and I can't nap when it's running. And I say it...Like a., I'm a tech-friendly female. And I say it all depends on how well-designed (or not) your heating/ cooling system is. Most thermostats are located in the hallway or about two feet from the heater (or cooler). Which means the hallway is going to be the only comfortable place in the house. This is a system designed by MEN, and I say it's DUMB! (But I < 3 you guys anyway.) So unless you want to spend all your time hanging out in the hallway, you're going to spend a lot of time tinkering with thermostats.

When I remodeled my family room, I had the thermostat installed on the opposite wall from the heater. It's perfect! I never have to mess with the thermostat unless the weather changes, like from winter to summer.Jan4insighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03884892191580742243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28272371.post-14922612074056244022008-06-11T07:19:00.000-04:002008-06-11T07:19:00.000-04:00@DRowsey: The power to control the environemnt ran...@DRowsey: The power to control the environemnt ranks right up there with the power to control the TV remote.

@everyone else: I'm still not convinced. I spent too many years working in the heating industry and saw too many women just baffled by the thermostat. Once, I was in an apartment shared by women. They didn't get enough heat. So, they lit a match under the thermostat. Guess they thought they were priming it.Da Old Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02529514518271981093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28272371.post-6884420477523453582008-06-11T01:04:00.000-04:002008-06-11T01:04:00.000-04:00HA! However, just because the house is on an even keel as far as the temperature, that does not mean that I am. Rather than fussing with the thermostat, though, I just put on a sweater or sweatshirt if I am cold, and wear lighter weight clothes or take off a layer if I'm too hot. He doesn't seem to mind it if I get too hot that way! ;)Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03865193802444007545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28272371.post-2728199893894798612008-06-10T14:26:00.000-04:002008-06-10T14:26:00.000-04:00There are a lot of reasons I can come up with, but...There are a lot of reasons I can come up with, but basically I think it's just to piss men off.Bradleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12041723486315545548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28272371.post-57750217056640382032008-06-10T10:25:00.000-04:002008-06-10T10:25:00.000-04:00It's sort of like..
