Loaded with Porky Goodness

My blogger buddy Kathy from the Junk Drawer shares something in common with the Crotchety Old Lady. They each have an appreciation for bacon.

Ok, it may go well beyond appreciation.

Watching QVC today (don't judge, I have a lot of free time) one product offered was bacon salt, which is a vegan kosher bacon product.

Obviously, it is not made from real bacon. But according to the shills presenters, it tasted just like real bacon, and allowed everyone to "bacon up" fries, burger, sandwiches, and soups without calories or ermm, actually using bacon.

I doubt either of these ladies would be satisfied with anything less than full on bacon-ness. This product, then, may be exactly what they both need

Just squirt bacon wherever it's needed. What could be better?

Photobucket
Oh yeah!

I'll continue to scour the 'net for bacon news that you can use.

BTW, 2 of the products are fake.

Mmmm, I can't wait to try a Bacon Salt, Lettuce and Tomato sandwich.

Not.

(That would be a BSLT. Bacon Salt, sounds like BS to me. Lol!)

I, too, am a bacon lover. The Squeeze Bacon looks like the product for me. I could squeeze it on a burger, squeeze it on toast, or just enjoy it right out of the bottle. Yum!

Nope nope not gonna happen. If I eat bacon of any kind (which I will)it has to be the real thing. If a food is gonna kill me then let real bacon be the food.

They're selling it on QVC now??? The owners of the company were kind enough to send me a sampler after reading my less than stellar review of Bacon Salt. To their credit, they didn't pressure me to give a better review of the other flavors (hickory, BBQ, etc.) That's good, because I didn't love them.

The bacon shaker could work but probably not. The other two? Even to gag the proverbial maggot. Just the thought of a bacon flavored soft drink is enough to drive me to drink. Wait, I already do that.

Sure wish I'd noticed that disclaimer before I spent the last two hours scouring the city for some delicious Diet BaconCoke.

I'm looking for a purple pill and I'll be checking my next Diet Coke very carefully.

Another bacon lover checking in.
It's the real thing or nothing for me.
And, please stop messin' with bacon.....chocolate covered bacon or bacon cupcakes?
Come on!!!!

I can actually see a good reason for that bacon salt-- add to soups and other recipes and MMMM, a dash o' smoky bacony goodness! :)

@ Lola: It just sounds bad. I never tried it, and doubt I ever would.

@ Me-Me: You sound like the Mrs.

@ Etta: I hate artificial stuff, too.

@ Kathy: Yes, and they sold out. It just sounded bad to me. Glad you tried it and saved me some money and a disappointed Mrs.

@ Don: As long as they never make Bud Bacon, all is good.

@ Shawn: Sorry.

@ Dizz: It could be a hit

@ Reforming: I wouldn't worry about it too much.

@ Shyne: Bacon candy is pretty popular. Chocolate and bacon seem to just go together.

@ Lauren: LOL

@ Jenn: Ok, but you know it didn't meet Kathy's bacon standards, so save your money for now.

A kosher bacon product? IT'S A MIRACLE!!!

Swirl Girl said...

There is just something horribly wrong with that. What's the point of being Vegan if you crave bacon or the flavor of bacon??

go for the real porky goodness, I say.

I don't care if the "Diet Coke with Bacon" thing is a fraud, I want some.

Want it now...

I prefer my bacon wrapped in bacon.

My physical should be fucking hilarious.

Hahahaha... Coke with Bacon. Can't wait to try it.

Bacon flavor coke is just soooo very wrong.

And I absolutely adore pork products. The only "coke" product I adore is Diet Dr. Pepper.

Coke sucks!

*ducking*

Stacie's Madness said...

thank goodness two of the products are fake, cause I think I just puked a little bacon reading this.

Bacon goes with everything

Da Old Man said...

@ FishHawk: Yes, a true miracle.

@ Swirl: I'm with you on that.

@ The Hawg: Coke would have a major hit with that.

@ Moooooog: It's not known as a health food.

@ Carl: It's in development.

@ Quirky: Mrs can't wait to have cherry Dr Pepper. She likes the commercial.

@ Stacie's: Not a fan of bacon, huh?

@ Nooter: The possibilities are endless.

@ I Hate: So I've heard.

Kirsten said...

Admit it! How much did you order from QVC?

Chaotically Calm said...

Is it not against the laws of religion to use kosher and bacon in the same sentence?

Da Old Man said...

@ Kirsten: None. Honest.

@ Chaotically: Probably

Back in February, I did a post devoted entirely to bacon.

One of the things I mentioned was that Bacon Salt stuff. I actually tried it.
It wasn't very good.

On the bright side, though, I also mentioned bacon band-aids and bacon bras.

An Ultra Higher Efficiency search that tends to make the Solo-Baric® L7 genuinely a statement item. The cone offers you deeper and stronger bass at greater listening levels with less distortion due to a smaller amount tendency to flex. Simply because, when a woofer cone flexes, there is a reduction of output. This decline of output translates into much less bass.

Have you considered the fact that this might work another way? I am wondering if anyone else has come across something
like this in the past? Let me know your thoughts...
