Moving On

Dictated today at 1:30 est...

It turns out that I did have a mini-stroke and there are other brain occlusions. Since I am going to a another hospital, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, the brain guy is going to have this checked out further.

Tomorrow I will be having a cardiac catherization/angiogram to let me know why the chest pain. WISH ME LUCK.

By the way Corky, how is that couch-raising fund coming along?

Thanks to everyone for their phone calls and cards. Your kindnesses are so appreciated.

What a boring place this internet has been without you.

Good luck, good wishes, and prayers (albeit from the Dark Side) are being sent your way. Half a day at a time Joe.

I hope you get everything worked out in short order. You've certainly been through a lot. So has Mrs. Crotchety too. You both will remain in my thoughts and prayers. :)

Aw for cryin' out loud.

That's the trouble with these doctors. You go in for one thing, and they find four more.

Hang in there Crotchety. We're all pulling for you.

Well, it has been obvious to me for quite some time now that there was some serious brain damage going on with you. I mean, anyone who could cheer for the Yankees and the New York Football Giants with such gusto is just not right in the head.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, some might think that I am being a jerk for continuing to pick on you at a time like this, but I figure I need to get as many shots in as I can before you come off of the ropes. For I know how you work.

Just found your blog via Nanny Goats in Panties. Thanks to your comment about retaining water like you are 85% Shamwow, I now have Cheeto spray all over my keyboard. I guess that's what I get for eating Cheetos in front of the computer at 4:00 in the morning. =)

Best of luck with your recovery. I hope you are able to go home soon. Congratulations on being able to find the humor in your hospital stay!

Good luck with your tests. Keeping you in my prayers and continuing to send positive thoughts your way.

Maybe we can use one of your brain xrays for a caption this. What'd ya think?

holy shit....HUGS!!

I don't know anyone else who could turn water retention into a ShamWow joke.

Make sure Mrs. C gets a good photo of you next time you're all wired up. The Foleying might be TMI.

I'm glad Mrs. C has a good sense of humor about all you sponge baths with the beautiful nurses.

Be prepared to hear a lot of jokes about your brain doc along the lines of "did they find anything?" When I had an MRI after having a migraine for a week and half I heard that all the time. Not. Funny. Ever.

Hang in there. You've got the whole Internet rooting for you!

Pricilla said...

dude! Good luck with the angiogram. I hate the suckers. I have had....uhm, I think 8 of them (brain - I had an aneurysm).

At least they only have to go to your heart.

My best one was when I got up to go to the bathroom and it was enough pressure on the artery in my leg and it broke open the scab and I started spurting blood all over the bathroom. I found it amusing but my husband was less than thrilled. He wanted me back on the bed but I didn't want to get blood on my new sheets and duvet cover. It was a pretty funny fight as I was spurting blood from my femoral artery all over the bathroom floor.

heh heh.

Obviously I survived.

Take it easy. I am thinking about you.
