In rehab I only have a few channels to watch. One of these channels is TBS. The Dell mini commercial is aired every 5 minutes.
So please buy a Dell mini, or don't buy one whichever will get them to take the commercial off the air.
I'm ready to stick Tootsie Pops in my ears.
And one more thing, how did anyone decide a computer is like a lollipop?

You could always threaten them with catheters, tomato-less spaghetti, and sponge baths from Nurse Dave.
If they still persist, maybe Nurse Dave could use the spaghetti AS a catheter.
If that doesn't work, nothing will.
Dare I confess?
I have yet to see this commercial.
Sorry DOM.
Sorry, but your plan won't work. For the more they sell, the more air-time they will buy, and since that commercial was obviously so effective, they will make more just like it. Alas, the end cannot get here soon enough.
I hate repetitive ads.
We have insurance ads, and lawyers offering help for 'accidents.'
One after another repeated adnauseum.
Nothing worse (bar pain) when trapped!
I haven't seen the Dell ad, but I can sympathize. On our national all-news channel they run Vince and his "slap chop" incessantly. He tells views the same thing he told that hooker: "You'll love my nuts." Um, I don't think so.
I hate it when they play an ad... and then play exactly the same ad again!
I didn't want the crappy DQ cake/auto insurance/feminine hygiene products the first time!
It's like they think we're not paying attention or something. Not that we are, of course.
Isn't TV the bain of recovery? I had surgery a few years ago and wanted to rip my eyeballs out if I watched one more kitchen re-do on HGTV. Being that I had 6 weeks of recovery--that's a LOT of kitchens.
I'm with you--the lollipop link is lame. But I do the little finger-in-my-mouth-pop sound every single time they play it. It's starting to give me a blister.

go there. Watch whatever you want.
Your welcome.
Dell computers are like eating lollipops because they suck.
I'm assuming that Dell Marketing didn't figure that out.
I've missed the commercials, thankfully but this makes me wonder:
How many licks can a Dell Mini take before you get to the CPU center?
Hey DOM, did you ever see the funniest video where two guys sang that song while looking in the reflection of a door knob? Yeah I know sounds stupid, but that is what comes to mind when that commercial comes on. Commercials are a taste of what hell will be like. Nonstop commercials. Makes me want to be good, real good.
See why I don't have television? This is why. There isn't anything worth watching and it costs way too much. Don't miss it one bit. Now a good book, that's another story.
Have a terrific day Crotchety. Oh, I'm sending you a truckload of Tootsie Pops, so be on the lookout. :)
Are you feeling okay? Maybe they should up your meds. Just sayin'
I'm sick of that commercial, too.
I'm buying a mini sometime this year, but I've determined it's going to be an Asus Eee.
That commercial you mentioned has forced me to absolutely hate Dell.
I, too, have not seen this commercial since I only have basic satellite due to no good, thieving ex partners.
So perhaps some good has come of it, eh?
And you only get to see the Braves do too? Blech.
I'd buy one for you, but I'm probably the last person on earth who hasn't seen the commercial. The joys of not having cable or satellite.
Mmm. Sounds great! Dell inedible lollipops and turkey sandwiches for breakfast. What a great place. Are the nurses homely to go along with the exciting breakfasts and t.v. lineups?
Never have seen that commercial so I don't get the lollipop connection but I will tell you I HATE the AT&T commercial with the chin-less rat-faced boy who keeps throwing away the family's roll over minutes because they are old. I switch the channel immediately. Thank goodness for remotes...
The equate them to lollipops because it's fun to lick the screen. Don't you lick your screen?
Between that and the stupid muppet commercial that I actually sing to now, I feel your pain. From one hermit to another...STOP THE DAMN DELL...lol
DOM - I have't seen this one, but it sounds like a tag line; dell + lollipop = suck! duh - oh well.
On my blog this week, I talk about yucky/bad/worst commercials - I'd be honored if you added this Dell one.
They say being annoyed / frustrated / angry /crotchety is a sign of recovery - Congrats!
Thanks for helping to raise my Dell stocks, if I get enough money off of this I will send you some more green Jello :)
I keep getting the Dell song in my head. :) I will admit as well that it took several times of seeing the commercial to even figure out what the point of the candy references were. . .I thought it was a Starburst commercial. =)
