Marcia, Marcia, Marcia

The Brady Bunch went off the air in 1974, that's 34 years ago.

Yet, it seems, every where I look on TV the last few months, and all I see are those darn Brady kids all over the place.

Last night it was little Cindy (never would have picked her to turn out so good looking) on some Comedy Central show getting shot with an air gun. Last season, it was Peter on some stupid reality show. Greg, when he isn't doing something stupid like boxing Danny Bonaduce, just makes guest appearances.

But Marcia has become a reality show star. Is someone a star if they only appear on CMT?

I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.

Last year, she was in Gone Country. It was a show where she, along with several other celebrities, attempted to break into the country music business. Big time country star Rich (John, Bob, Richie--who knows) presented a number of challenges, and eventually one of the celebrities received an opportunity to try to become a country star. Maureen lost. Rather than go away, she is back this season with a new show, Outsider's Inn. The hokey premise is she runs a bed and breakfast in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Or is it the Smokey Mountains? Does it matter?

Yeah, that's her and her helpers, Bobby Brown and Carnie Wilson.

The producers admit that some of the show is done for effect, so, what's the point? I have no idea. It's a partially scripted reality show.

WTF
Exactly

But I'm in a goofy mood. Ok, more than usual.

Check out this quick video of the World's Strongest Redneck.

Rednecks aren't like the rest of us.

I remember as a young girl ... I wanted to be Marsha (or Marcia) ... all little girls wanted to be her.

Alas,I was more of a Jan.

Reality shows are crap ... the one with Peter looks really sleazy. Luckily we don't get most of them here but I do see excerpts sometimes...eeesh.

Hey, ain't you the same "Da Old Man" I've seen hangin' out with a bunch of Arkies??? Not that I can blame you. For they always add an air of sophistication unto any occasion, and in comparison unto the bohunks down around Hoboken...

Is that picture for real or staged as a joke. You've got to be kiddin' me... I can't keep up with reality shows. They're taking over tv...

I can't believe that ol' boy busted up them perfectly good dishes on his belly... Grandma's gonna be pissed...

@ Drowsey: Reality shows make up 90% of American programming, I think. And, the problem is, they are all manipulated for effect. My friend was on one, so I learned some of the "behind the scenes" stuff.

@ Fishhawk: Yeah, that was me. I have a thing for beer and Waffle House waitresses.

@ Flowergirl: It's used in the opening credits of the show. The show is so bad, it's great. Last night's episode was about Carnie's hemmorriods.

I thought Carnie Wilson lost all that weight. What the heck happened to her. Did she eat Bobby and Peter?

@ Lauren: She's been gaining it back. She's the cook on the show, BTW.

I've never seen The Brady Bunch and have no idea who Marcia is. Or Marsha. But the world's strongest redneck? I see him. And yeah, I have to agree. Not like the rest of us. Oh boy ... ROFL!

@ jay: It's Marcia: Drowsey uses the Canadian spelling. How could you miss them? The show was on for years, and in reruns forever. Been a couple movies, too.

I would not watch one of those in a MILLION years...or I was bored or there was nothing else on or I was looking for quotes. But other than that, NEVER.

@ Lucy: Each episode is a quote fest

What the hell??? Are you kidding me about her 'roids?? What in the hell is TV coming to??? I knew there's a reason I can't ever find anything to watch...

@ flowergirl: I wish I were. In fact, on camera, she said "This is never to leave this room." What a maroon.
