The Excitement Never Ends

I'm bored this long weekend.

Since the Crotchety Old Lady is out of work, she hangs around the house way too much, and with her out of work, every weekend is a long weekend. How many rounds of "What's That Smell?" can we play?

I need to get her a job. She expects me to entertain her all the time. I do enough directing her in cooking and cleaning around here, now I have to provide recreation. Doesn't she realize that I got stuff to do?

Just Tuesday, she asked what I was planning to do. I said I was going to sit around, watch TV, eat chips, scratch, and play on the computer. She said, "That's what you did Monday."

I told her, "I didn't finish."

Well, I'm jealous! I want to retire and do what you're doing! I want to sit around and watch tv and other fun stuff (I'll pass on the scratching though)

I LOVE playing "What's That Smell"!

Of course, since I'm single and live alone, I usually know the answer.

tell her to clean the house!

You must keep on her about finding a new job. Scratching the really good itches are best done in private.

The scratching is never quite finished. Just when you think you're done, mmm, there goes another itch!

Buy and use a Wii

I love that answer. Always words of wisdom can be found on the crotchety blog!

Heh heh

I don't think it's possible to "finish" on the computer. On second thought, with the mosquitoes we have around here today, I'll never finish scratching!

Nice! I see who runs that household. Well, actually I see who thinks they run that household. After all, she did manage to con that ergonomic snow shovel out of you.

@ Joanie: It's not all it's cracked up to be.

@ Janna: Trust me, Mrs. usually knows the answer, too.

@ Mr Condescending: I do.

@ Etta: I know. I need to find her something to give me more "me" time.

@ Collette: I know. I hate that.

@ Lauren: No, I don't need a Wii. Just need to get her out of the house and making some money so I can buy stuff.

@ Quirky: Thanks

@ Reforming: We have loads of them here, too. But I won't go outside.

@ Don: Well, with all the complaining about her bad back, the shovel was a compromise.

Have fun settin' and scratchin', Joe! Oh and playing "What's that smell"--which cracked me up because here we call it "I smell poo". That usually means Hobbes hung his butt over the litter pan too far again and we're all fighting over who has to clean it up. Married life is grand, ain't it??!

Da Old Man said...

@ Pricilla: I suggested that to the Mrs, and she likes the idea.

@ Lin: We often play another variation called, "Did you just fart again?"

I understand now why my previous comments about keeping them in the kitchen were so wrong. Sometimes I just type without thinking. Can you find in your heart to forgive me?

DOM you need to spice things up you great conversationalist, you. Next time Mrs Crotchety asks, "So, what's on TV?" Tell her, "dust!"

Those are the things that NEVER get finished. I am glad you straightened her out.

Sorta like Schubert's Unfinished Symphony, huh? Then again, are we ever finished with anything?

Da Old Man said...

@ FishHawk: Of course.

@ Nonamed: That would make her angry. No one wants to see her angry.

@ Dizz: Now she knows

@ Sherry: How true. We are works in progress.
