New Development

Yesterday morning it was the usual stump check at the wound center...got there at 11:00. At noon, the doc decides that: Yes, the stump is infected and I will be admitted back into JFK Hospital to have intravenous antibiotics and debridement of the skin flap. I have to go under anesthesia for this since it will be quite painful. What a surprise. Hmmm, maybe we can be reacquainted with Mr. Morphine...

After a discussion of how we can save the knee, which I brought up, I asked for treatment in a hyper-baric chamber to promote the healing. This is now up for consideration.

Finally got into a room (5317, play this number)at 3:00. And since EVERYTHING here takes forever to be processed, I will probably be here for a while. My new phone is 732-321-7846.

Gee, Joe, maybe after the hyper-baric chamber treatment you can get a chimp and call it - oh, I don't know, how about - Bubbles. Then you and your stump could go on tour and call it - um, maybe - "This Is It". I'd pay good money to see it!

Be well, my friend.

You've certainly been through the wringer numerous times. I hope this new development has a great outcome. You and Mrs. Crotchety remain in my thoughts and prayers. :)

Gees, Joe, haven't you had enough?? You sure must like those nurses to keep finding new things wrong with you!

Hope you are feeling better, pally. :)

Criminy!

At this point, you should just have all your mail forwarded to the hospital!

*grin*

I'll keep sending good thoughts, vibes, and prayers your way!

If they put in a hyper-baric chamber, will come out looking like Michael Jackson?

Bubbles the chimp? Michael Jackson? All that pain and suffering only to emulate the one-gloved perv? Surely you can do better, Crotchety. How 'bout Mel Gibson? He seems to have a way to express his anger and frustration, to vent and release his stress, which supposedly is very healthy. At least he doesn't wear a glove on one hand and hold a chimp with the other...as far as I know.

Christ! Setback after setback after setback! What the hell?!!! ...And you're still pluggin' along. What else is there to say? Continued luck and get well. Where I have heard that before?

I'm hoping they save the knee. You know how them docs are though, once they start cutting, they can't stop. Sorry you lost the "Boss" too. They don't make men like that anymore.
