The Jannapedia

My fellow humorblogger (is a person a fellow humorblogger if that person is a she?) Janna at
http://jannaverse.blogspot.com/ has noticed that Google Captcha now uses almost words. She has created the Jannapedia for giving definitions to these new almost words.

I found myself doing the same thing, and they make me laugh, so I wanted to share a few with anyone interested in contributing to their own edition of the Jannapedia.

Hannism -- a near religious devotion to Hanna Barbera cartoons

Immutses -- Can't speak due to dropped cell phone call

Breba -- Short period of time

Nastrik -- A racing league for magicians

Toppee -- Opposite of Bottommee

Vingert--If you work in a sub sandwich shop (not Quizno's, I still hate them) after you put on the vinegar, it has been vingert

Zationss -- Things that are really great.

Harmour -- British word for practical joke when someone gets hurt

Mether--too blasé to pick either or neither

Stapses -- Things one steps upsess

Etings--The stuff left over after you eat, like bread crusts, shrimp shells, and such

I swear one time it gave me "HaNDjoB" no joke. I feel like those Google techies every once in a while put in something perverted just to mess with us.

These are really good! Thanks for the laugh.

I can't imagine trying to use more than one of these in a sentence....

Clever stuff-- reminds me of what used to be called Sniglets. Words that didn't exist yet but should. :)

Excellent - thanks

I agree with David... I am quite fond of "mether"... and, being quite the fan of "meh", I shall be adopting the term "mether" as a new word in my vocabulary.

Breba Immutses about Zationss like Hannism because I'm too busy cleaning up Etings & Vingert, And since Mether of my personalities is in a Nastrik I cannot Stapses magically to make that happen. This is NOT a Harmour but should put you Toppee of your game!

I don't think anyone can top what Lauren just said.

@ Fly: It could be just wishful thinking

@ Chris: That was one of my favorites. I may even start to use it

@ Vodka: I subbed in a K class one half day. That was enough for me.

@ Clueless: Glad you liked them.

@ Reforming: It takes creativity

@ Jenn: I remember those. :)

@ David: That was my favorite.

@ Shadow: Wouldn't that be funny if it wound up in the dictionary? Meh just came into our language based on an episode of the Simpsons.

@ Lauren: You win.

@ MA: I agree

I hate the Captcha thing and it hates me. It gives everyone else really easy almost words like Mether (which is a great one) and it gives me words like Dolceconliiveirti. I think it knows I'm mildly dyslexic and it's making fun of me. Half the time I don't bother leaving comments if I have to go through the humiliation more than three times. What's even worse is I have them on my blog but since I have two different google accounts I end up having to do them when I comment on my own site. What's even worse are the math ones. 4+2=six not 6. Just to piss me off.

Hahaha That is so fun! I will have to remember and write down all the captcha's I see in a day and see what I can come up with. :)

Harmour was brilliant! Of course, Mether was right up there.

I won? WOOT! I WON! Wait..what'd I win? :)

I'm trying to make you famous, Crotchety. A PR guy out of New Jersey was pitching a story to me today to put in our trade magazine (it's a good one, so I'll use it).

I said, "New Jersey? Well, you've just got to go see what your neighbor, good ol' Crotchety, is up to."

I sent him the URL, too. Yes, that's the kind of stuff I do on company time.

I was thinking that "Vingert" was a new taste sensation created by mixing vinegar with yogurt. Makes sense.

Hey, neat!
I've been plagiarized!

Er, I mean...
Cool, you did a Jannapedia post! Thanks for the link and the mention.

So would yours be a Crotchipedia, then?

@ Michelle: Yes, word verification. Hope you had a nice day

@ Jen: I personally hate the verification thing. I think they can give shorter ones by author's choice

@ Angie: They are fun

@ Lauren: The chance to get an extra guess at the caption this on Wednesday

@ The Hawg: Thanks. I hope to hear from them.

@ Dead Rooster: Don't let Dannon hear about that

@ Janna: No, it will always be Jannapedia. That is how Google has indexed it.
